Located 43 kilometers from Ulaanbaatar on the south side of the Bogd Khaan Uul Strictly Protected Area, the monastery was destroyed during the communist purges of the 1930’s. Set in a beautiful location, reconstruction of some of its buildings is taking place and where one can visit its museum, see many of its Buddhist artifacts and walk in the surrounding forested valley.
The Monastery itself is within the Strictly Protected Area.
