Our 2026 Mongolian Gobi Tours offer you again desert adventures on camel back, on foot and by 4×4. They take you to the varied landscapes of the Gobi. Many travelers are surprised to find green plains, rugged mountains, hidden forests, ice filled valleys and ice falls in the desert. Gobi tours are also great opportunities to spot wildlife, herds of Mongolian gazelle, black tailed gazelle, birdlife, ibex, and argali. And you may be lucky to see the tracks of a snow leopard, or even the elusive cat itself. And perhaps most important, our Mongolian Gobi Tours give you a wealth of cultural experiences as you learn from our guides and drivers who themselves are members of the local community.
2026 Mongolian Gobi Tours – Stone Horse classics
Our 2026 Mongolian Gobi Tour schedule includes again our classic 6 Day Gobi Desert Tour and the 10 Day Gobi Crossing. These tours run year-round. During the horse trekking season, from mid May to late October, they are scheduled so as to allow guests to combine a horse trek with a Gobi desert adventure.
The scheduled Winter Camel Trek 2026 takes place in February. It coincides with the Lunar New Year (from February 18 – 20, 2026), giving us the opportunity to join local celebrations of this important traditional festival in Mongolia.
The Mongolian Gobi Camel Festival Tour takes in the colorful festival event and takes you to the iconic destinations of the Gobi desert. Traveling back to the capital city Ulaanbaatar, the tour visits the ancient capital Kharkhorin.
Custom treks and winter camping adventures for groups can be arranged with sufficient prior notice and if our other tour commitments and logistics allow. Oftentimes there is also some flexibility as to the duration of the 6 Day Gobi Desert tour. It can be extended according to your time frame and preferences. For example, days of hiking or camel riding can be added to the regular itinerary.
Mongolian Gobi Tours 2026 – Quick Overviews
The 6 Day Gobi Desert Tour takes you to the iconic sites of the Mongolian Gobi. Hike into the Vulture Gorge and visit the Flaming Cliffs. Climb the dunes of the Singing Sands. Home stays with nomadic herder families of the Gobi and the knowledge of our local staff provide you with an authentic experience.
On the 10 Day Gobi Crossing you venture into the more remote parts of the Gobi desert. Camp under the desert sky for some of the nights. Visit prehistoric sites with ancient rock art. On the return journey take in the historic capital Kharkhorin. Visit the wild horses of Hustai Nuruu National Park before returning to Ulaanbaatar.
Winter camel trekking is a very special adventure, of 11 Days total, including 4×4 travel to the South Gobi provincial capital and the approach to the camel trekking camp. The 4 day camel trek covers spectacular desert landscapes, starting from one mountain range and traveling to a remote massif rising from the desert plains. While traveling by jeep before and after the camel trek, you visit famous sites of the Mongolian Gobi, such as the Vulture Gorge, as the schedule allows.
The 2026 Winter Camel Trek is scheduled to allow guests to join in the last day of the local Lunar New Year celebrations.
Gobi Winter Camping Adventures are for groups of family or friends who are true adventure travelers wanting to experience the Gobi when very few travel in the desert. This adventure relies solely on our camping logistics as camps and guesthouses are closed during this time of year. For winter camping, we provide insulated dome tents that can be heated by woodstoves.
